A website for a gelateria where the menu changes every morning

Zmrzlina Jadran makes small batches from fresh milk and real fruit, and when they run out, they run out. That single fact decides almost everything about how the site has to work.

Web development

A business that changes every day

The headline on the site is "Vyrobené dnes ráno" — made this morning. That is not a slogan so much as a constraint. The shop mixes smaller batches each day from fresh milk and real fruit, and as its own copy puts it: when they run out, they run out.

A website for a business like that cannot be a brochure written once. The thing customers most want to know is what exists today, which means the daily line-up has to be both the easiest thing for the shop to update and the easiest thing on the page to read. Everything else on the site is arranged around not getting in the way of that.

Telling people whether you are open

A seasonal business has a second question that matters as much as the flavours: are you open right now? The site answers it directly rather than making visitors decode a table of opening hours — it states the current status and, when closed, when it next opens.

That question gets harder because there is not one shop. Three seasonal locations run under one name, and the site has to carry them without fragmenting the brand across three pages that fall out of step with each other. Its own framing is the neat one: three seasonal locations, one shared taste.

Allergens people can actually check

Ice cream is one of the few products where the ingredient list is a genuine safety question. Milk, eggs and nuts all appear, and pistachio — one of the most popular flavours — is exactly the kind of thing someone needs to check before they are standing at the counter with a queue behind them.

So allergens are treated as primary content rather than a legal footnote: listed against the flavours, with a complete list of flavours and allergens available in full, and a plain instruction to ask at the counter before ordering if you have an allergy. Publishing it properly is both the safer and the more hospitable choice.

The part that is not about ice cream

The site also carries a family archive — a grandfather who made ice cream in Zagreb, and later photographs from the same family. A business that has been in one family long enough to have an archive usually has never had anywhere to put it.

Giving that its own space is the difference between a shop that sells gelato and a shop with a reason to exist. It is also the section that will still be worth reading in the winter, when the flavours page is empty and the stands are shut.
